The terms that apply to our atelier and our commissions.
Please read these terms before placing an order or commissioning a garment. By placing an order you agree to them.
1. About Us
HUTAILOR is a tailoring atelier based in Shenzhen, China. We make ready-to-wear, semi-bespoke and bespoke garments, including qipao and tailored suits, for clients in China and around the world. These terms govern your use of this website and any order placed with us.
2. Orders and Commissions
An order is confirmed once we have agreed the garment, the service level, the fabric and the estimated timeline with you in writing. Semi-bespoke and bespoke garments are made to order against your individual requirements, and production begins only after that confirmation.
3. Measurements and Fit
Where measurements are required, we provide instructions and review submissions before cutting. You are responsible for providing accurate information; we will contact you if anything appears inconsistent. Our Fit Guarantee sets out what happens if adjustment is needed after delivery.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices are confirmed during consultation and depend on the garment, fabric, construction and level of customization. Payment terms are set out on your order confirmation.
5. Lead Times
Lead times vary according to the garment, fabric, level of customization and production requirements. Where a specific date matters to you, please tell us before ordering and we will confirm what is achievable.
6. Shipping and Delivery
We ship worldwide with insured delivery and tracking. Further detail is set out on our Shipping & Delivery page. Risk of loss passes in accordance with the carrier’s terms.
7. Changes and Cancellation
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Because made-to-order garments are produced against your individual specification, changes may not be possible once cutting or construction has begun.
8. Returns and Refunds
Ready-to-wear items are handled under our standard returns approach. Semi-bespoke and bespoke garments are made to your individual specification and are generally not returnable for change of mind; where the fit requires adjustment, our Fit Guarantee applies. If an item arrives faulty or not as agreed, contact us and we will put it right.
9. Intellectual Property
The content of this website, including text, imagery and design, belongs to HUTAILOR unless stated otherwise. Please do not reproduce it without permission.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or from an order, and our liability is limited to the value of the order concerned.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Shenzhen, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you may have in your own country.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies at the time of your order.
