Frequently Asked

Before You Order

What is the difference between Qipao and Cheongsam?

Both refer to the classic Chinese fitted gown. “Qipao” originates from Mandarin, while “Cheongsam” comes from Cantonese. At HUTAILOR, we craft both traditional high-neck cuts and modernized tailored iterations.

Can I order a qipao with custom sizing if I live overseas?

Absolutely. Over 80% of our clients reside internationally. We utilize a proprietary remote measurement method to ensure your gown drapes flawlessly without needing an in-person fitting.

How long does a made-to-measure qipao take?

Semi-bespoke pieces are completed within 2–3 weeks after your measurements are confirmed. Full bespoke and private commissions are quoted individually, as timing depends on fabric selection and the extent of hand embroidery.
